Attached Pavilions That Extend the Home

An attached pavilion turns the back door into the party’s starting point. We tie the pavilion installation in Southern Maryland, into your home’s structure and match the roofline and trim, so it reads like part of the house.

  • Roof pitch matched to your home’s existing roofline
  • Trim, fascia, and finishes matched to your home’s exterior
  • Posts placed to keep walkways and sightlines open
  • A covered path from the kitchen straight to the grill

Freestanding Pavilions for Any Backyard

A freestanding pavilion gives the yard its own gathering spot, out by the pool, the fire pit, or the corner with the best shade. It stands on its own footings, so it never touches your home’s structure.

  • Open sides for easy traffic between the pavilion and yard
  • Sized to your yard, from a family table to a crowd
  • Sited around existing trees, grade, and drainage patterns
  • Set on footings dug below the local frost line
  • Placement planned around sun angle and afternoon shade

Everything the Cookout Needs, Built In

The bar, the fans, and the lights are easier to plan now than to add later. We work out the wiring and features during design so nothing gets stapled to a post after the fact.

  • Built-in bar with counter space for serving and prep
  • Ceiling fans wired in for humid July afternoons
  • Lighting planned for dinner and the long conversations after
  • Outlets placed for the TV, the speakers, and the blender
  • Built-in bench seating for extra guests along the edges

Materials That Leave Your Weekends Free

Southern Maryland summers are hard on wood, and nobody wants to spend Saturdays staining posts. Every pavilion building project we take on uses materials that stand up to the humidity and ask very little of you once they’re in.

  • Pressure-treated structural framing rated for ground contact
  • Fiberon available for trim, fascia, and any raised flooring
  • Wrapped posts that won’t need paint or stain
  • Cedar accents for a warm, traditional pavilion look

Why Homeowners choose KP Homescapes

We catch problems before they reach you. Our project managers know the IRC code inside and out, and they’re checking structural details before a single board is installed. Permits, inspections, and all the paperwork most contractors hand off to you? We handle it.

When we give you a timeline, that’s the one we’re going to hit. Not the one that sounds good in the sales meeting. If something changes along the way, you’re going to hear about it from us right away, in writing, with what we’re doing about it.

Pavilions FAQs

What is the difference between an attached and a freestanding pavilion?
Start with where your family already gathers. If the party lives near the kitchen, attached usually wins; if it drifts toward the pool, freestanding does. We’ll walk the yard with you and recommend the option that fits how you host.
Pick the roof based on how much weather you want to shut out. Shingles and metal keep out rain and direct sun, while polycarbonate panels let light through. We’ll match the choice to your home’s existing roof and how you plan to use the space.
Can a pavilion be built over an existing patio or deck?
Often, yes, and it can save you from pouring a new slab. A sound patio may carry a pavilion, but posts over a deck usually need their own footings below the framing. We inspect the surface, footings, and grade before recommending any approach.
A pavilion has a solid roof, while a pergola has open rafters that filter the sun. If you want to keep hosting when it rains, you want a pavilion. If shade and a defined space are enough, a pergola can be the simpler build.
