KP Homescapes was born from a desire to create something more than outdoor spaces; it was built to transform how families live at home. I’m Phil, an electrical engineer by degree, who spent 17 years working with the Department of Defense, leading teams that developed cutting-edge systems for Naval Aviation. While the work was important, I often felt trapped in the tangle of bureaucracy. I longed to step away from the walls of government and make a more direct, personal impact on the world around me.
In 2012, my wife Karen and I took a leap of faith and founded what is now KP Homescapes. It started as a dream to build something meaningful, something that would inspire pride in our crew, bring joy to our clients, and enhance the lives of the families we served.
Since then, we have transformed hundreds of homes and backyards across Southern Maryland, helping families create their own sanctuaries. We believe that outdoor spaces are where life’s best moments happen. Whether it is a quiet morning on the deck, an evening of laughter around the fire pit, or a summer barbecue on the patio, these are the spaces where memories are made.
