Don’t be fooled by other companies’ bargain basement pricing that uses inferior framing lumber from box stores and cut-rate lumber suppliers. Composite decks are structurally supported by wood framing and the life of your deck depends on the quality of that lumber underneath the composite materials. Your lumber should go through a superior pressure treatment process and should be rated for “Ground Contact”. Most box stores and cut-rate lumber suppliers stock framing lumber that uses an inferior process that does not achieve the Ground Contact rating designation.
